Galentines Fun

YAY! Time to call all your gal pals and throw a party! Just in case you didn't know, galentines is a valentines party with all your best girlfriends. You could go out, stay in, get creative! Here is my party and hopefully it sparks some ideas for you.

ps. I think the whole month of february is for love so its not too late to have some fun, you could throw a get together after valentines day too!

I had such a hard time picking just one theme for my party. But that's the first step...

1. Pick a theme. I went classic valentines day with pinks, reds, and whites. Typical hearts and all the cute love sayings. But some other ideas would be to go modern, black and gold. Or eclectic, pick out china from a thrift store and go colorful or make it antique. There are so many routes you could go and just pick what you love best!

2. Next you need to send out an invite, I did this through facebook and created an event. You could also send out actual invites if you had enough time, or my favorite virtual invite app is evite. It's super easy to use and there are so many fun cute templates.

3. Now it's time to start planning. If you are going out, reserve the restaurant and activities. Make sure you do all your research so you know how much it will cost each person, etc. If you are staying in, pick your food option. I went with brunch since we had the party at 11 am on a Saturday. We did smoothie bowls, egg cups, mini doughnuts, and mocktails!

4. Now it's time to plan your decorations, based off of where the party will be held. DIY decorations are my favorite because they are cheap and fun to make! I made a balloon arch, glitter cups, party favors, place settings, and tassel banner.

5. Lastly, plan any activities you'd like to do during your party. I found galentines day games in the target dollar section and thought they were so cute! So everyone had a word scramble and what's in your phone sheet to fill out. First one to unscramble all the words won and the whoever got the most points for the phone sheet won. I had a little prize for each! We also did a "favorite things" theme for the party. There are ideas for this all over pinterest and you can do it however you'd like! This is how I did it... every girl brought 2 $10 gifts, something that had to do with their favorite things. For example, I brought a watercolor paint set that had paint, brushes, and paper because I love watercolor painting and being creative, my second thing was a giving key necklace and a pair of fuzzy socks - anyone who knows me well knows that I'm always wearing fuzzy socks and I wear my giving key a couple times a week! Everyone explained their favorite things and why they loved them, then I gave each girl two raffle tickets. When I drew their ticket, they went up to the table to pick another girls favorite thing gift. No one could pick their own and everyone went away with 2 other girls' favorite things!

Now it's time for you to party! Go over everything and make sure you're prepared, but just have fun. Valentines day and February isn't just for people with significant others, love is for everyone! And don't forget, the greatest love is God's.

until next time, xo bm
