Are you a thrifter?! I get a little giddy trying to search for all the hidden gems in a thrift store. There's something about it that feels like a challenge....I'm hunting for treasure.
Everyone does thrifting a little differently. You can thrift for the best brands and most expensive clothes at a drastic discount, thrift in order to repurpose and and create something new, or just thrift for things you like with no real mission in mind. I'd say I'm a mixture of all of the above.
My BEST thrift store find was an Anthropologie dress, brand new with the tags on, originally over $90 and I found it for $5 at a thrift store. I live for finds like these! But, I also love repurposing and giving something new life. Anytime I go into a thrift store I'm on the hunt for good denim...shorts, pants, or jackets, good jean is such a good find. I have so many jean jackets and love adding paint or iron on patches to them to make them unique (I'll make a blog post on this another time). And even still, sometimes I just find a cute shirt, dress, or jacket that I simply just like. Last time I went to the thrift shop I found an Old Navy long, blush pink coat that is so cute!
Every Thursday around here will be thrifty thursday! I'm going to post something I found and you can decide if you think it's trash or treasure. Style it on your instagram story, tag me, and I'll pick a winner to send it to. You can get as creative as you'd like when you style the piece...post a video explaining how you'd style it, put a collage together of pinterest finds and style it virtually, or use your own clothes and show how you'd wear it with what you have! I can't wait to see what y'all come up with and I hope you enjoy these finds as much as I do.
