Venice, Italy

Updated: Dec 11, 2021

I can't wait to share these pictures with you. Venice was a world of its own and quite the adventure. Our train arrived at sunset and our mouths dropped open at the beauty surrounding us. Kaitlyn (my sister in law) and I both had suitcases and we ended up lugging them allllll over the city until we made it to our airbnb. Oh and you know how venice is surrounded by water...so it has bridges everywhere..? We hauled our luggage over way too many steps and bridges to count!! When we finally made it to our airbnb, we were exhausted and hangry. Unfortunately, the airbnb was an old very sketchy place! Haha quite the memories were made. We left our luggage and roamed around until we found the cutest place to sit down and order some pizza. Dragging our feet back to our room we fell into bed and dreamt of our adventures to come.

If you go to Venice, get up early to explore before the main attractions are packed with tourists. Definitely hit the main tourist attractions but also be prepared to just wander the streets and not have a plan. We walked further and further away from the main attractions and fell right into the local's world and had a blast.

A highlight was our gondola ride. Our gondolier actually let me drive our gondola for a bit and I almost crashed us into a wall! haha Actually he repeatedly flirted with me (i'm sure he does that to all tourists) and kept saying "i love ginger woman!" so that became a joke the rest of the trip. As we pulled up to finish our ride, he helped each of us out and tried smooching me! Thankfully I turned my face just in time and he kissed my cheek 3 times before I could push him away. Ooh venice was full of laughter and random italian men winking at me, there are many memories!

So many little snapshots and memories in dreamy venice.
